PRIVACY POLICY

The Australian Marketing Institute (“AMI” “we” “us” “our”) understands and appreciates that individuals (“you” “your”) may be concerned about the privacy, confidentiality and security of their personal information which is collected by AMI.

AMI is committed to protecting your privacy and endorses the Privacy Act 1988 (Privacy Act) and the Australian Privacy Principles ("APP") in its management of personal information. This policy sets out AMI's information handling practices and procedures.

Under the Privacy Act, personal information means information or an opinion, true or false and whether recorded in a material form or not, about an individual whose identity can be reasonably ascertained from that information or opinion.

This policy is designed to help you better understand the following matters:

• the personal information we collect and how it is collected;
• how and why we maintain and use the personal information;
• how we disclose, store and dispose of personal information;
• how you can access and correct your personal information; and
• how you may enquire about the Australian Privacy Principles

Collection of Information

The type of personal information we collect from you may include:-

• name, address, telephone, email and other contact information;
• personal qualifications (if relevant) including their occupation,
• financial details to process payments; or
• personal information of persons authorised by you to deal with us on your behalf.

AMI only collects personal information that is reasonably necessary to provide the products and services that we offer and to ensure that we comply with all laws in relation to the provision of products and services.

If we need to collect Sensitive Information (such as information relating to health, disability, ethnic origin, criminal convictions, religious or political affiliation), we will

• only do so where it is reasonably necessary to perform our functions;
• seek your express written consent in advance;
• and comply with the requirements of the Privacy Act.

AMI collects information in a number of ways, including:

• directly from you when you provide information (such as an email address and personal details) by sending us a message, email, telephone or in documents such as an application, registration form or order forms;
• from third parties such as our related companies or your authorised representatives;
• information collected and collated from publicly available sources, including search engines, websites, social media, publicly available data bases, third party sources and referees, personal contacts and industry connections;
• information provided in surveys that are conducted are used for statistical purposes,
• AMI’s community platform; or
• by the use of cookies.

Remaining Anonymous or Using a Pseudonym

You have the right to contact us anonymously or using a pseudonym (unless there is a legislative requirement that prevents this).

You should be aware that there may be instances where we cannot respond to you or properly investigate a complaint if you do not provide contact details or sufficient information.

Use and Disclosure of Information

Personal information is collected by us for use in connection with conducting our business. Such uses include:
- to identify you;
- assessing and processing your application for the products and services we offer;
- introducing you to products and services we facilitate on behalf of third parties;
- to provide you with additional information in relation to existing services or products you already receive from us;
- to update your contact details on any database held by us;
- to inform you about products and services available;
- to allow you to obtain the unique benefits that are available resulting from membership of AMI, including member newsletters and member offers negotiated by us on your behalf;
- to enhance the delivery of products and services we provide you (including conducting research);
- charging, billing and recovering overdue payments;
- maintaining and developing our business systems;
- disclosure to our partner organisations who provide services to AMI members
- to research and collaborate the 'Intelligence Connected’ Whitepapers on the industry and to assist statistical or research analysis that we consider necessary for business purposes; or
- to comply with legislative and regulatory requirements.

Direct Marketing

We may use your personal information, including your contact details, to provide you with information about products and services (including those of third parties) which we consider may be of interest to you.

We may also provide your details to other organisations for specific marketing purposes, such as the direct mailing of B&T Magazine.

From time to time we may telephone or send you direct marketing material. At any time you may advise us that you do not wish to receive marketing communications. You may opt out at any time if you no longer wish to receive marketing information or do not wish to receive marketing information through a particular channel (such as by email, telephone, sms, or mail).

If you do not want us to send you marketing communications via email you can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe option available. To opt out of all other means of communication, please phone our Membership Manager via 1300 737 445. Alternatively, you can select the type of marketing content you wish to receive at any time when you log into your member profile on our website; www.ami.org.au/myaccount.

Website Analytics

When you visit and browse our website, our website host and some third party service providers may collect information for statistical, reporting and maintenance purposes.

Subject to the terms of this privacy policy, this information is used to administer and improve the performance of our website and will not be used to identify you. The information may include:

- the number of users visiting our website and the number of pages viewed;
- the date, time and duration of a visit;
- visiting patterns of individuals accessing our website;
- the IP address of your computer; and
- the path taken through our website.

We use website analytic services to help analyse how you use our website (Website Analytics). Website Analytics generate statistical and other information about website use by means including but not limited to cookies which are stored on users' computers. The information generated is used to create reports about the use of our website. Our third party providers of these services may store this information.

We will not (and will not allow any third party to) use Website Analytics to track or to collect any personally identifiable information of visitors to our website. AMI will not associate any data gathered from our website with any personally identifying information from any source as part of our use of Website Analytics.

AMI treats personal information that may be obtained through cookies and any other information supplied to us (for example if you send us an email) in accordance with this privacy policy.

For Advertising Purposes

Facebook

AMI uses a technology called Facebook Conversion Tracking. This allows us to track visitors who have been referred through a Facebook page, application or advertisement and then visited a Focal Attractions website. We will share information regarding your visit to our website with Facebook but this will not include any information specific to your application or other personal information. Facebook will use this information to monitor on our behalf the effectiveness of our advertising and applications. The information we share with Facebook will only be used in accordance with Facebook’s data use policy facebook.com/about/privacy. Facebook Conversion Tracking may also enable us and our partners to serve ads on and off Facebook.

Security


We will take all reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. When information is no longer needed we will destroy or de-identify it.

All our data is stored in written and/or electronic form and we maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect your personal information.

We restrict access to your personal information to those employees, corporate partners, joint venture partners and third party providers who need to know that information in order to deliver our products and services efficiently and effectively.

We require our employees, corporate partners, joint venture partners and third party providers to protect the confidentiality of information as required by applicable law. Access to information is limited to administering, offering, servicing, processing or maintaining of our products and services. When we share or provide information to other persons or organisations, we contractually obligate them, if required by law, to treat information as confidential and conform to our privacy policy and applicable laws and regulations.

AMI maintains strict standards and security procedures to prevent unauthorised access to your personal information and to ensure the correct use of information.

Overseas Disclosure of Personal Information


Your personal information may be disclosed to the Australian and overseas regulatory authorities, our agents, contractors or third party service providers who provide administrative, telecommunications, computer or other services to AMI in connection with the operation of its business and who are under duties to AMI to keep such information confidential and secure.

We may disclose your personal information overseas in accordance with APP 8 (cross-border disclosure of personal information), on the basis that it will only be used for the purposes set out in this privacy policy. We will not transfer personal information to a recipient in a foreign country unless we have appropriate protections in place as required by the relevant privacy laws. Your information will be stored on our data base for such period of time as required by law.
We currently share limited personal information with organisations that are located in Canada that provide products and services to AMI members.

Access to Information

AMI will take all reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we maintain is accurate, complete and up-to-date. AMI has procedures in place which facilitate amendments and verification of personal information.
You may request access to the personal information which we hold about you and request its correction if you believe it to be incorrect. We can also correct your information if we are satisfied that it is incorrect. There are some circumstances where we can refuse to give access to Information.

These include where given access to the information would:
- pose a serious threat to the life, health or safety of an individual or the public,
- have an unreasonable impact on the privacy of others; or
- be frivolous or vexatious.

If there is a change in your circumstances that requires an update to our records please contact AMI on the details outlined at the bottom of this document. Members are able to modify their information by logging into our website; www.ami.org.au/myaccount.

For security reasons, any request for details of information held by AMI should be made in writing. You may be asked to provide proof of identify.

Complaint Resolution

If you have a complaint regarding our management of your personal information, you may contact us. To address your complaint we will:
- use a process that is accessible, flexible and timely and done in accordance with the principles set out in the Privacy Act;
- focus on maximising the opportunity for you and AMI to work together to achieve a successful resolution to the complaint; and
- strive to identify and address any systemic issues that may arise through the lodgement of the complaint and rectify or deal with such issues to prevent their recurrence in the future.

General events Terms and Conditions

1. All prices are inclusive of GST.
2. Behaviour: AMI reserves the right to prohibit entry of any person to an AMI event, or eject any person from an AMI event based on behaviour deemed inappropriate by AMI staff and/or its agents and others working under its authority.
Canvassing by delegates is strictly prohibited at AMI events and forums. Promotional materials may not be distributed at the event/forum except by event sponsors. Delegates violating this policy will be asked to leave the event and AMI members may have their membership revoked.
3. Image release: In registering for AMI events and conferences, delegates grant permission to AMI, its agents and others working under its authority, to take and to have full and free use of video/photographs containing their image/likeness. It is understood these images may be used for promotional, news, on-line/multimedia, research and/or educational purposes by and for AMI. Delegates agree that they are not entitled to remuneration, residuals, royalties or any other payment from AMI in respect of their image/likeness or its use. Delegates release, discharge, and hold harmless, AMI and its agents from any and all claims, demands or causes of actions that they may hereafter have by reason of anything contained in the photographs or video. Should a delegate not agree to the above image release, they must advise AMI by contacting (02) 8256 1650 or events@ami.org.au
4. Invoices: When you complete and sign your copy of the registration form, this becomes a tax invoice in compliance with ATO requirements. This can be used to make payment by Electronic Funds Transfer, Credit Card, or cheque and you can keep this completed form on file for your tax records.
5. Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT): If paying via EFT, a completed copy of the registration form along with a remittance advice is needed in order for the registration to be processed by AMI. Payment by EFT will not be accepted after the registration closing date. Your registration is not confirmed until you have received a receipt and confirmation email from AMI.
6. Payment: To avoid disappointment, ensure you pay for your booking(s) before the registration closing date. Anyone that has not received a confirmation email will not be on the event attendance list and therefore will not be admitted to the event.
7. Late Fees: Registrations and payments made less than 5 business days before the event will incur a $75 late fee. 
8. Program: AMI reserves the right to change the program at any time. Every effort will be made to ensure a program of equivalent standard.
9. Registration Notice: AMI member registration rates are not transferable to non-AMI members. By selecting a member registration rate, it is agreed that the registrant is a current financial member of AMI and that the registration is made in the AMI member's name only. A breach of this may result in a cancellation of an event registration and/or AMI membership
10. Registration and Payment: Payment in full is required by the event date in order to attend.
11. Sharing registrations: One registration may not be utilised by several individuals.
12. Substitutions: Should a registrant be unable to attend, they may send one substitute in their place. AMI must be notified of all substitutions prior to the event.
13. Privacy Notice: AMII is concerned with the protection of your privacy. We support the privacy principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Privacy Act), as amended. AMI collects and stores your personal information for the purposes of providing membership services, education and training programs. Here is how your data may be used: Communication from AMI: AMI may use your details to promote products and services in the form of email communications and/or other types of communication. Email events@ami.org.au if you would prefer not to receive communications from AMI. For the purposes of the event: Your details will be provided to parties directly related to the conference including the conference registration manager, venues and accommodation providers for the purpose of room bookings, catering needs and other conference options.
14. Communication from 3rd parties: Event sponsors and exhibitors may be provided with delegate details following the event. If you wish to opt out please contact events@ami.org.au to opt out.
15. Cancellation: Should you be unable to attend, a substitute participant is welcome at no extra charge. Alternatively, a full refund, less a $165 service charge, will be made for cancellations in writing (email or fax) up to two (2) weeks prior to the event.
16. Insurance: Registration fees do not include personal, travel or medical insurance of any kind. Participants are advised that a travel insurance policy be taken out to cover loss, cancellation, medical cover, etc for any reason. The Australian Marketing Institute does not take any responsibility for any attendees failing to insure.

Intelligence Connected Terms and Conditions

The information on, or a result of, the Intelligence Connected Community ('ICC') is owned and operated by the Australian Marketing Institute ('AMI'). Your access to and use of the ICC is conditional on acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. If you proceed to become a member on the ICC you are consenting to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please therefore read them carefully before becoming a member to the ICC.

  1. Becoming a member is only open to individual/s that are current financial member/s of the AMI. Submissions for survey activities will only be accepted via the ICC online portal
  2. If you become a member of the ICC, you agree to receive emails and communication revolving around community activities.
  3. The AMI will only accept one listing per individual and all listings will not be disclosed to other members as the ICC is not an open, interactive community
  4. From time to time the ICC will share general statistics of the ICC member base to each of it's members through the ICC portal member log in
  5. The accuracy of the information you submit to the AMI through the ICC is your responsibility. The AMI is not responsible for typographical, grammatical errors or misguided insights and opinions.
  6. The AMI reserves the right to remove any members from the ICC for misconduct, or to publish or decline to accept a information submitted to the ICC. If you have a concern, we suggest that you speak to the AMI in the first instance.
  7. Becoming a member in the ICC does not indicate, expressly or implied, any endorsement of your products or services by the AMI.
  8. You must not use the ICC to engage in any conduct that violates any term of these Terms and Conditions; or rights of the AMI or third parties; or the AMI Code of Professional Conduct.

Marketing Services Directory Disclaimer

The information on the Marketing Services Directory ('MSD') is owned and operated by the Australian Marketing Institute ('we', 'our' and 'us'). When we refer to us, we include our employees, representatives and associates.

Marketing Services Directory Terms and Conditions


The information on the Marketing Services Directory ('MSD') is owned and operated by the Australian Marketing Institute ('AMI'). Your access to and use of the MSD is conditional on acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. If you proceed to submit a listing on the MSD you are consenting to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please therefore read them carefully before submitting a listing on the MSD.A listing in the MSD is only open to individual/s or organisation/s with staff member/s that have attained the Certified Practising Marketer (CPM) accreditation and are current financial member/s of the AMI. Only the name of a current CPM can be listed on the MSD for contact or display purposes. Submissions for listing will only be accepted via the online or PDF version of the MSD submission form.

  • If you list in the MSD, you agree to utilise a CPM, in the first instance, when providing services to a user of the MSD.
  • The AMI will only accept one listing per individual or organisation and all listings will be in alphabetical order.
  • A listing in the MSD is limited to marketing- related services only and includes a maximum choice of five categories and unlimited subcategories within each chosen category.
  • The accuracy of the information you submit to the AMI is your responsibility. The AMI is not responsible for typographical, grammatical or logo errors.
  • If you or the contact person of your organisation listed on the MSD ceases to be a current financial member of the AMI, the AMI may remove your listing from the MSD.
  • The AMI reserves the right to publish or decline to accept a listing for the MSD. If you have a concern, we suggest that you speak to the AMI in the first instance.
  • A listing in the MSD does not indicate, expressly or implied, any endorsement of your products or services by the AMI.
  • You must not use the MSD to engage in any conduct that violates any term of these Terms and Conditions; or rights of the AMI or third parties; or the AMI Code of Professional Conduct. The contact information contained in the MSD is not to be utilised for direct marketing purposes by third parties.
  • The AMI may from time to time amend, update, or change the MSD, including these Terms and Conditions, without notice to you.
  • These Terms and Conditions should be read with our privacy policy, our general disclaimer and our MSD disclaimer available on our website at www.ami.org.au.


Third Party Sites

Links to third party sites appear on this web site. The AMI does not control and is not responsible for the content of these sites. The links are provided solely for your convenience and do not indicate, expressly or implied, any endorsement of the sites or the products or services provided by these third party sites.

You access those sites and use their products and services solely at your own risk. If you access other content or services from third party sites, the AMI will not be responsible or liable for any loss or damage incurred as a result of such dealings.

Mobile Messaging

When you provide us with your mobile phone number, you are expressly agreeing that The Australian Marketing Institute may send you text messages (including SMS and MMS) to that phone number to market or advertise further product or services provided by the AMI. You also agree to pay any charges that may occur to your wireless bill or to have them deducted from your prepaid balance for this service. You acknowledge that you are thirteen years of age or older and you have the consent of the account holder.
You may opt-out at any time by texting the word STOP to any of the text messages. You agree to receive a final text message confirming your opt-out. Texts may be sent through an automatic telephone dialling system. Consent is not required as a condition of purchasing any goods or services. You agree to notify AMI of any changes to your mobile number and update your subscription with AMI to reflect this change.
Your carrier may prohibit or restrict certain mobile features and certain mobile features may be incompatible with your carrier or mobile device. Contact your carrier with questions regarding these issues.

AnchorREFUNDS POLICY

  • The Australian Marketing Institute does not offer refunds for Change of mind or no show's
  • Refunds will be issued if written noticed is received at least 7 business days prior to the event commencement date
  • If an attendee falls unwell then someone may attend in their replacement.
  • Cancellations within 7 business days of the event commencement day will forfeit 100% of the ticket cost
  • Cancellations 4 weeks - 14 business days prior to the event commencement day will incur a $125 administration fee.
  • Refunds take up to 7 business days to process via credit card and up to 30 business days via EFT.
